Introduction to the new musdb (English)

This autumn, museum-digital’s inventory-management area, musdb, will undergo a major redesign. Since museum-digital was founded in 2009, the system has been continuously developed. It now offers a wide range of cataloguing functions and has grown into a comprehensive collection-management tool. It is therefore time for a fundamental revision of both its architecture and user interface.

Parts of the new musdb will be available to all users from the end of September. The complete redesign will be officially presented at the museum-digital Deutschland e.V. German community meeting on 30 October 2026. Following a transition period during which users will be able to switch between the old and new designs, only the new design is expected to be available from the end of November onwards.

The developer will provide an insight into the new design and will be available to answer questions.
